M.I.B member KangNam [Jungle Entertainment]
KangNam of hip-hop group M.I.B has been cast as a regular in a cable TV sitcom, making it his first role on the small screen. Jungle Entertainment said in a press release on Monday that KangNam will play an exchange student from Japan who attends Korea's prestigious KAIST University in tvN's sitcom "21st-Century Family" which kicked off its run over the weekend. "I am really nervous since this is my first acting gig but I hope to show the audience a whole different side of me outside the stage," KangNam said in the statement. "21st-Century Family," helmed by famed producer Song Chang-ui who directed the popular 90s sitcom "Three Men and Three Girls," tells the story of a modern family surrounding a middle-aged man named Deok-hwa. The man who was once a celebrity is remarried to a woman 20 years younger with two daughters and a son who are no help to his adventurous daily life. KangNam made his debut as the lead singer of M.I.B (Most Incredible Busters) with their first full-length album of the same name in October of last year. The boys are currently preparing to make their comeback to the local music with a single album next month. ※ Any copying, republication or redistribution of 10Asia's content is expressly prohibited without prior consent of 10Asia.
