KARA's leader Park Gyulee will receive surgery on her throat this week, according to her agency DSP Media. DSP said in a press release on Monday that Park, who was suffering from vocal fold nodules since November of last year, will go under the knife tomorrow to treat her vocal cords including the nodules and polyps. Originally, doctors had advised Park undergo surgery right away though she postponed the procedure and continued with her singing activities which included performing during the Japan and Korea run of musical "200 Pounds Beauty" and taking the stage at their first concert "KARASIA" in Korea over the weekend. She will undergo full rehabilitation before she joins her bandmates for their second leg of their Asia tour in Japan in April. Gyulee made her debut as the leader and main vocalist in girl group KARA in 2007 with several No. 1 singles under the belt such as "Honey," "Mister," "Jumping" and "Step." She was also the host of MBC's radio show "Shindong, Park Gyulee's Sim Sim Tapa" with Super Junior's Shindong and has starred in musical "200 Pounds Beauty." ※ Any copying, republication or redistribution of 10Asia's content is expressly prohibited without prior consent of 10Asia.
