KARA [DSP Media]
Han Seungyeon, Kang Jiyoung and Nicole Jung of girl group KARA have decided to stay with their agency DSP Media, bringing an end to months of turmoil for the top K-pop quintet.Through a press release late on Thursday, DSP announced that all disputes with the three have been resolved and they have agreed to resume their activities as KARA.The group had halted their singing career in Korea starting January when the three declared they would split from the group for reasons amounting to them having lost their trust in the agency. However, after much discussion, with no strings attached they agreed to drop their suit against DSP which had demanded for their contract with DSP to be invalidated, the statement read. Then DSP, on behalf of both themselves and KARA, apologized to fans for causing concern while thanking them for their support and understanding. "This will not be our only apology... We will engrave this in our hearts as a huge amount of debt that we will have to repay fans forever."Fans and the entertainment industry have embraced the resolution since many had started to doubt the group remaining a five-member entity which would end their currently highly successful singing career. The girls had continued promoting themselves as KARA in Japan although halting their activities in Korea, releasing albums and DVDs as well as shooting their own TV show which have been hits, proving that their internal trouble has done little to hinder their title as one of the most successful female K-pop groups in the country. Most recently, they became the first foreign female group in the Oricon's 43-year history to top the prestigious chart in the first week of releasing a single with their third Japanese single "JET COASTER LOVE."※ Any copying, republication or redistribution of 10Asia's content is expressly prohibited without prior consent of 10Asia.
