Rematch to Take Place at the Same Venue on March 9
Lee Sedol, 9-dan professional Go player who played against the artificial intelligence (AI) Go program AlphaGo, will once again play a match against AI after 10 years.
The startup Enhance announced on the 3rd that it will launch a global campaign on the 9th to promote the commercialization of agentic AI, which is based on an ontology that understands human intent and data relationships.
Lee Sedol will envision the "future of Go" in conversation with the Enhance AI agent at the Four Seasons Hotel Ara Hall, the same venue where he faced AlphaGo a decade ago. He will then reconstruct the Go model in real-time and proceed with the match.
Lee Seunghyun, CEO of Enhance, said, "It is meaningful that we can prove here, at the place that astonished humanity 10 years ago, that AI has evolved into a partner that maximizes creativity."
Lee Sedol played five matches against AlphaGo, the Go program developed by Google DeepMind, in 2016. He recorded one win and four losses, and remains the only human to have defeated AlphaGo.
Meanwhile, Anthropic, NVIDIA, and Microsoft are participating as official sponsors of this event.
