The United States, which is conducting military operations in Iran, announced on March 2 (local time) that it had sunk 11 Iranian vessels that were in the Gulf of Oman.
The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), which oversees American forces in the Middle East, stated on X (formerly Twitter) that "just two days ago, the Iranian regime had 11 vessels in the Gulf of Oman, but today they have none at all."
The Gulf of Oman is a strategic body of water located along Iran's southern coast, adjacent to the Strait of Hormuz, which serves as the entrance to the Persian Gulf.
CENTCOM also released a 10-second video in the post, showing a vessel being sunk at sea.

Additionally, CENTCOM stated, "For decades, the Iranian regime has harassed and attacked international shipping in the Gulf of Oman, but that era is now over. The freedom of navigation at sea has been the foundation of U.S. and global prosperity for over 80 years. The U.S. military will continue to defend it going forward."
Since February 28, the United States has been conducting military operations targeting Iran for a third consecutive day, in cooperation with Israel. The goals of this operation include eliminating Iran's missile bases, neutralizing its naval capabilities, and preventing it from acquiring nuclear weapons.
