Man Claims to Have Dated Gangbuk Motel Suspect
Says "We Were in Contact Until Just Before Her Arrest"
"She Lied Regularly...There Were Many Suspicious Aspects"
A man who claims to have dated the woman in her 20s suspected of causing the deaths of two men at a motel in Gangbuk-gu, Seoul, has come forward. He stated that he kept in contact with the suspect for about a month, meeting her in person twice, and added, "She lied regularly and there were many aspects that seemed suspicious."
According to an interview with The Herald Business, Mr. A, a man in his 30s, said he had been in contact with the suspect, Ms. Kim (22), for about a month since January of this year.
Mr. A said that the two first met at a nightclub on January 10. Afterward, they kept in touch via social networking service (SNS) messenger, and met in person twice to spend time together.
"We were in contact even on the day of the first death"
Mr. A claimed that they were in contact until 5 p.m. on the day the first death occurred. He said, "Kim told me she was going to work a part-time job that evening," and added, "When I asked her what was going on, she replied that she would tell me the next time we met, after midnight."
Police are investigating the case on the grounds that Kim checked into a motel with another man at 9:24 p.m. that evening and handed him a drink containing drugs.
"Bought 'hangover cures' during the second meeting"
The second meeting took place on the 1st of this month. They spent about nine hours together, moving between a restaurant, a bar, a karaoke room, and a convenience store. Mr. A said he covered the expenses, which totaled about 300,000 won. He recalled, "She didn't even say thank you."
At the convenience store that day, Kim put several hangover cure drinks in the basket and asked Mr. A to pay for them. During the investigation, it was found that the victims had consumed hangover cure drinks containing hypnotic agents, and a large quantity of the same product was discovered at Kim's residence.

"Lied about her age and job...I don't know what was real"
According to Mr. A, Kim introduced herself as 25 years old, but she was actually 22. She also claimed to be attending a certain university, but according to police, she was unemployed. She said she was 164 cm tall, but appeared taller. Mr. A said, "She looked at least 170 cm tall. I really don't know what was true."
On the days they met, the weather was extremely cold, but Kim wore very revealing clothes. Mr. A said he had to tell her several times to adjust her clothing because her upper body was exposed. When Kim did not fix her clothes, Mr. A zipped up her top himself, but Kim irritably unzipped it again.
From December 14 of last year to the 9th of this month, Kim is accused of handing drinks containing benzodiazepine-based drugs to three men in their 20s, resulting in the deaths of two and causing one to lose consciousness. Police have detained Kim on charges including murder, and are reviewing the results of psychological analysis, including a psychopathy evaluation.
