On March 4, Gwangju and Jeollanam-do are expected to be mostly clear, but dense fog is forecast for the morning commute, and the temperature difference between day and night is expected to be around 10 degrees Celsius.
According to the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration on March 3, Gwangju and Jeollanam-do will experience mostly clear weather on March 4. However, from the early morning to the morning hours, dense fog with reduced visibility is expected to form, especially in inland areas of Gwangju and Jeollanam-do.
Morning lows will range from 0 to 5 degrees Celsius, and daytime highs will range from 9 to 15 degrees Celsius, which is similar to or slightly higher than average for this time of year. A representative from the meteorological administration explained that the temperature difference between day and night will be very large-around 10 degrees Celsius-especially in inland areas, so extra care is needed for health during the changing seasons.
Thorough preparation is also required to prevent safety accidents along the coast and at sea. Until March 4, high waves caused by swells are expected to surge strongly onto beaches in the southern coast of Jeollanam-do and may even cross over rocks and breakwaters.
In addition, the far southern waters of the West Sea and the western part of the far southern sea are forecast to experience strong winds of 7 to 12 meters per second, with waves rising to 0.5 to 2.0 meters. Vessels engaged in navigation or fishing in these areas should exercise particular caution.
A representative from the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration advised, "During the early morning to morning hours, visibility will drop sharply due to dense fog, greatly increasing the risk of traffic accidents on the way to work, so be sure to reduce speed when driving. Please also pay special attention to the large temperature difference of around 10 degrees Celsius and the swells affecting the coasts."
