A Total of 569 Individuals Honored
Film director Bong Joon-ho, 'Figure Skating Queen' Kim Yuna, and others were selected as exemplary taxpayers and received commendations.
The Ministry of Economy and Finance and the National Tax Service announced on March 3 that, in celebration of the 60th Taxpayers' Day, awards were presented to 569 individuals who contributed to exemplary tax payment and cooperation with tax administration.

Orders of Merit were awarded to nine individuals, including Ahn Jaeil, CEO of SungKwang Bend (Gold Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit). Presidential Citations were presented to twelve individuals, including Kim Hanjeong, CEO of Gyeongwoo Electric.
The Presidential Commendation was given to 23 people, including Yoon Nara, CEO of TJ Media, and the Prime Minister's Commendation was awarded to 25 people, including director Bong Joon-ho. Director Bong was recognized for elevating the status of Korean culture and arts, contributing to the development of society, and supporting national fiscal growth through diligent tax payment.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance's Commendation was awarded to 500 people, including Kim Yuna and broadcaster Kim Sungju.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Koo Yooncheol stated, "Exemplary taxpayers are the true patriots of our time," and added, "We will make groundbreaking improvements to the preferential treatment systems so that they receive the respect and recognition they deserve in society."
