Recognizing Contributions to Community Harmony, Volunteerism, Education, Healthcare, and Agriculture

Naju City in Jeollanam-do awarded a citation to Byungnam Cho (86, Nampyeong-eup) in recognition of his contributions to the development of the local community and the harmony of its residents.
On March 3, the city held a regular assembly in the main conference room of City Hall with over 150 public officials and stakeholders in attendance, where it presented citations to 19 citizens and organizations (1 organization and 18 individuals), including Mr. Cho.
The event began with the national pledge, followed by the awarding of citations, the viewing of a city administration video, and closing remarks.
This round of citations was prepared to honor those who have contributed to local development and the improvement of civic welfare across various sectors, including volunteer work, educational advancement, culture and tourism, healthcare, and agriculture.
The Governor's citation was awarded to the volunteer group 'Nanuri' from the National Radio Research Agency for distinguished volunteer activities, and to Hye-Sook Myung, chief of the Seongbuk-dong Residents' Association.
The Mayor's citation was presented to Osook Lim, Principal of Bitnuri Elementary School, Choon Dal Song, Principal of Hanareum Elementary School, and Yeonkyung Ha, staff member at Dongshin University, for their contributions to educational advancement and talent cultivation.
In the field of culture and tourism, cultural and tourism interpreters Sungja Lee, Jeong Sook Kim, Sung Sook Yang, and Kyo Sook Lee received citations for their efforts in promoting the history and culture of Naju.
In addition, Youngjin Kim of Noan-myeon was honored for his swift response and rescue activities at a fire scene; Ikseon Choi, Chief Director of Choi Sun Orthopedic Clinic in the Innovation City, for improving local medical services; Byungnam Cho of Nampyeong-eup for contributing to community development and resident harmony; Wooyoung Jeon, chief of the Seongbuk-dong Residents' Association; Jongseon Won, head of Wangok-myeon; and Choonyul Heo, chief of the Bitgaram-dong Residents' Association, were also recognized.
Furthermore, Jaesam Yoon of Noan-myeon was cited for leading snow removal efforts in winter; Mijin Choi, a member of the Bitgaram-dong Community Security Council, for supporting vulnerable groups and promoting specialized projects; Jeonghoon Park, assistant manager at Nampyeong Agricultural Cooperative, for strengthening agricultural competitiveness; and Mi Kang, a self-support worker in Geumcheon-myeon, for her social welfare activities.
During the regular assembly, a video highlighting the city's major achievements and future policy directions was shown, allowing staff to share in the city's administrative vision.
A Naju City official stated, "We are grateful to everyone who has devoted themselves to the development of the community and the happiness of our citizens in their respective positions."
