Epson Korea announced on the 3rd that it conducted an experiential climate and environmental education program called "Snow for tomorrow" together with the youth from Eunpyeong Angel Home, which it has been sponsoring since 2019, at Elysian Gangchon.
This program was designed as an educational social contribution activity, allowing participants to directly experience and learn about the environmental value of snow. The program was structured to help the youth naturally understand the severity of the climate crisis and the importance of eco-friendly values. "Snow for tomorrow" is a collaborative social contribution program that continues the purpose of the S.O.S (Save Our Snow) campaign hosted by the Climate Tech Center at Seoul National University. Epson participated as a sponsor of the S.O.S campaign last year, and through this activity, expanded its environmental protection message into a more direct and tangible educational program.
The S.O.S campaign originated from the awareness that global warming, caused by increased atmospheric carbon, is reducing the number of snowy days and weakening the climate regulation function that snow performs in the Earth's ecosystem. It emphasizes that snow plays a crucial role in reflecting solar energy and lowering ground temperatures, and that the faster snow disappears, the more this accelerates the vicious cycle of warming.

During the two-day, one-night camp, the youth from Eunpyeong Angel Home directly experienced the physical characteristics and functions of snow through skiing and snowboarding. In the eco-friendly education session, the impact of climate change that could occur if snow were to disappear was explained using content tailored to the youth’s level, naturally conveying the importance of environmental protection. Additionally, Epson introduced its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) philosophy and eco-friendly technologies, sharing examples of how the company's technological capabilities can be expanded into social value.
There was also time to document the camp experience using Epson's photo printers and label printer "Namer." Participants printed out photos and photocards of their activities on the snow, organized them with labels, and went through a process of reflecting on and expressing climate and environmental messages themselves. An Epson official explained that the program was designed to ensure that the environmental message would not remain a one-off communication, but lead to long-term changes in awareness.
This activity is also significant in that it is an extension of Epson's support for Eunpyeong Angel Home that has continued since 2019. Epson has consistently provided supplies to improve the educational environment at Eunpyeong Angel Home and has worked to expand opportunities for cultural and artistic experiences. Epson invited Eunpyeong Angel Home to its new media art exhibition "TIME SLIP," allowing them to experience content that combines art and technology. The company also invited the children to the exhibition "Future is Positive: Norman Foster, Foster + Partners," which featured Epson projectors, providing opportunities to directly experience future visions of architecture and sustainability.
