Michelle Wong Honored as Producer
Aiming for Double Oscars on the 15th
The most successful animated film in Netflix history, "K-Pop Demon Hunters," has swept major awards, winning not only the Golden Globes and the Grammys but also the Producers Guild of America Awards.
According to the Producers Guild of America on March 2 (local time), producer Michelle Wong won the award for Outstanding Producer of Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures at the 37th annual ceremony held in Los Angeles on February 28.
"K-Pop Demon Hunters" tells the story of the girl group Huntress, who hunt evil spirits, facing off against the demon boy group Lion Boys, who prey on human souls. With its unique universe, it took home both the Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song awards at the Golden Globes this January, and made history last month by becoming the first K-pop genre work to win at the Grammys.
This latest Producers Guild of America Award ceremony is considered a key indicator for the direction of the Oscars, as it takes place just before the most prestigious film awards in the United States, the Academy Awards. "K-Pop Demon Hunters" has been nominated in two categories at this year's Oscars: Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song ("Golden").
