Four Varieties of Plum Blossoms Across 495,000 Square Meters
Sayout Garden, a meditation and contemplation garden in Gunwi, Daegu, will hold the "2026 Sayout Garden Plum Blossom Festival" from March 5 to 31. This year's festival goes beyond simply viewing plum blossoms, offering a multisensory spring experience through walking, listening, and remembering the scents.
Sayout Garden, established along the ridgeline of Palgongsan Mountain, is home to four varieties of plum blossoms-white, red, black dragon gold, and cloud dragon. These plum blossoms bloom at different paces, creating ever-changing landscapes throughout the festival and weaving the entire garden into a continuous narrative.
During the festival, all visitors will receive a "Plum Blossom Trail Postcard" that guides them to major plum blossom clusters and photo spots. The "Plum Blossom Walk Together" program invites guests to stroll through the most picturesque areas, accompanied by a guide, exploring key gardens such as Yuwon, Maesancheopcheop, and Gwanmaejeong. This offers an opportunity to reflect on the philosophy embedded in Sayout Garden's natural environment and architecture. The walk concludes with seasonal beverages and bakery items at the summit caf?, Gagabinbin.
The fragrance meditation program, "Scent of Contemplation," offers a guided experience to evoke inner imagery and blend aroma essences to create a unique personal fragrance. The finished scent card can be taken home, allowing guests to preserve the memory of spring for a long time.
The festival's core program, the "Plum Blossom Korean Traditional Music All-Day Package," will be held on March 14 and 28 at the outdoor performance venue "Symphony 6" within Sayout Garden. On March 14, sorikkun Jung Eunhye will present pansori and folk songs, while on March 28, gayageum performer Lee Jiyeong will perform sanjo and sinawi. This package includes premium traditional music performances, a full-course Korean meal by Mongmongmabang, and quince tea, all within a single-day itinerary.
During the festival, the caf?s Gagabinbin and Mongmongchabang will offer a seasonal limited "Apple Plum Tea," inspired by the vibrant red plum blossoms.
With its diverse programs that combine nature, architecture, art, and wellness, Sayout Garden-selected as a "Korean Tourism Star" promising destination for 2025-will see its March filled with overlapping sights, scents, and sounds of various blooming plum blossoms, completing a unique narrative of spring.
