Scholarship Fund Totals 840 Million Won
Over 70% of Recipients Are STEM Majors
The SeAH Haeam Academic Scholarship Foundation announced on March 3 that it held the 34th “Future Science and Technology Talent Scholarship Certificate Award Ceremony” at SeAH Tower in Mapo-gu, Seoul, and selected 70 scholarship recipients.

Established in 1992, the SeAH Haeam Academic Scholarship Foundation has supported approximately 1,500 undergraduate and graduate students with scholarships over the past 34 years, aiming to nurture engineering and science talent that will contribute to future developments in science and technology. The foundation is recognized for its commitment to investing in talent through long-term and continuous scholarship programs, thereby strengthening the foundation for Korea’s manufacturing competitiveness.
This year, the foundation focused on fostering core talent that will lead future high-tech industries and innovation in science and technology. More than 70% of the selected recipients are STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) majors, with enhanced support for basic science and engineering fields.
The foundation has secured a total scholarship fund of 840 million won and plans to provide each recipient with 3 million won per semester for the next two years. The scholarship is designed to be used for both tuition and living expenses, aiming to alleviate the real financial burdens faced by STEM students who need to concentrate on research and studies. The foundation will allow recipients to use the scholarship autonomously as needed, enabling them to focus on their academics and personal development.
At the award ceremony, Lee Sunhyung, Chairman of the SeAH Haeam Academic Scholarship Foundation, and Lee Taesung, Secretary General, attended to personally present the scholarship certificates and encourage the recipients.
Chairman Lee Sunhyung stated, “Pursuing your dreams with sincerity requires great courage and strength,” and added, “The foundation will continue to provide ongoing and progressive support so that scholarship recipients can take pride and boldly pursue their goals.”
Meanwhile, the SeAH Haeam Academic Scholarship Foundation is not limited to financial support, but also operates programs that help scholarship students network and grow. Through the “Fresh Up Camp” and “Homecoming Day,” the foundation strengthens networking and community spirit, and through the “Career Challenge” scholarship for students who take on entrepreneurship, it supports students in implementing self-initiated projects. The foundation plans to further expand this virtuous cycle of support, exchange, and challenge in the future.
