Strengthening Support for Work-Life Balance
Extended Hours, Dinner Service, and Specialized Care for Sick Children Set the Center Apart
Toss announced on the 3rd that it has opened its first in-house daycare center, "Toss Eum Daycare Center."
The company opened the in-house daycare center to enhance team members' work immersion and to provide more practical support for work-life balance.
Previously, Toss partnered with 24 childcare facilities through joint operations with other companies, establishing a network-based model across various regions. Each facility accommodates up to a three-digit number of children.
With the opening of the in-house daycare center, Toss employees can now choose among 25 daycare centers-including in-house and partner facilities-based on their work location and residence conditions.
Located near Toss's headquarters in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, the Toss Eum Daycare Center is comprised of two floors above ground and one basement level. The center has a capacity of 43 children and serves infants and young children ranging from 0 to 5 years old.
The center operates from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. in accordance with Toss’s fully flexible work system. A total of 13 staff members, including early childhood education specialists and cooks, care for the children.
Toss Eum Daycare Center aims to expand children's exploratory experiences through grade-based class organization, a structured curriculum, field trips, and community engagement.
The curriculum is based on the national educational standards and incorporates the Reggio Emilia philosophy from Italy. The approach starts from the belief in each child's competence and respects children as active members of the community.
The center also provides extended evening care and dinner, and offers special activity programs such as English, music, and physical education for 2- and 3-year-old classes. In addition, a care system for sick children has been established to help team members maintain a balance between work and family responsibilities.
The center goes beyond simple childcare by offering quarterly parent participation programs and consultations, as well as enhanced safety and hygiene management systems, creating a stable environment for care and education.
The physical environment was also designed with great attention to detail. Children's furniture and supplies are custom-made based on age and physical development stages, and guidance signage is designed at children's eye level. The center is described as an environment that prioritizes the lives and perspectives of children, rather than just a simple care space.
A Toss representative stated, "Toss will continue to expand infrastructure that considers the lives of team members and their families."
