At the "Smart Logistics Special Hall" prepared by Hyundai Glovis, visitors will be able to experience a logistics automation environment where the entire process-from cargo inbound, storage, sorting and picking, to outbound-is seamlessly connected.

The "pallet shuttle," a piece of equipment in which a transport robot is mounted on a fixed rail, automatically moves incoming items in the warehouse to their designated storage locations. For outbound items, it carries them from their storage positions along the rail to the specified outbound point, making it easy for workers to retrieve them.

This pallet shuttle is controlled through "Orca," a warehouse control system (WCS) platform that Hyundai Glovis jointly developed with its subsidiary, Altiol. To provide logistics solutions, Hyundai Glovis acquired a 70% stake in Altiol, a logistics automation specialist, in 2023.

The exhibition will also demonstrate the transport of goods using autonomous mobile robots (AMR) and robotic picking operations. When an AMR carries items located within the booth, a robot equipped with Hyundai Glovis's proprietary "One-Kit Picking Automation Technology" picks up the items and moves them to the storage area.

Notably, the non-powered model of Boston Dynamics' humanoid robot "Atlas" will be unveiled to the general public in Korea for the first time at the Hyundai Glovis booth. As a mock-up of the "developmental Atlas" that made its world debut at CES in Las Vegas this past January, it is expected to draw significant attention from visitors, just as it did when it created a sensation at the time.

Since last year, Atlas has been conducting proof-of-concept (POC) work for parts sequencing at Hyundai Glovis's facility within Metaplant America (HMGMA), and starting from 2028, it is scheduled to be deployed for processes such as parts sequencing and classification at HMGMA, where safety and quality effectiveness have been clearly verified.

A Hyundai Glovis representative stated, "We will continue to focus on advanced research and strengthening our logistics automation technology competitiveness in order to respond quickly to the rapidly changing logistics environment brought on by advanced technologies such as physical AI."
