Jindo County to Launch Jindo Dog Sports Events

Jindo County in South Jeolla Province will launch this year's first Jindo Dog sports performance at the Jindo Dog Theme Park starting January 31.

According to the county, a variety of experiential programs will be held throughout the Jindo Dog Theme Park area until December to promote the culture and excellence of the Jindo Dog. These include weekend dog sports events and the Jindo Dog Learning Experience Center.

On weekdays, dog sports performances will take place at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. On Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays at 11 a.m., the park will offer Jindo Dog bonding performances, running events, agility demonstrations, and the Jindo Dog Learning Experience Center.

The Jindo Dog Theme Park also operates the Jindo Dog Promotion Hall, a sledding hill, Jindori Playground, a mini animal farm, and children's play facilities, providing convenience for visitors.

The county explained that last year, a total of 117 weekend dog sports events were held, attracting approximately 160,000 visitors to the Jindo Dog Theme Park.

A county official said, "During the Lunar New Year holiday, we plan to offer a range of hands-on and exhibition programs for returning residents and tourists visiting Jindo."

Meanwhile, the county is planning to hold the 'Jindo Dog Festival and Contest,' an event where visitors can participate with their companion dogs, in early May at the Jindo Dog Theme Park area.
