250 Labor and Management Members Participate
Embracing the Community with Kimchi and Mutual Growth Fund
Korea Expressway Corporation (President Ham Jingyu) held the "2025 Kimchi Sharing of Love" event at its Gimcheon headquarters on December 2, launching a large-scale winter support initiative for vulnerable groups in the local community.
This event, now in its third year since President Ham took office, is a flagship year-end social contribution program. A total of 250 executives and employees participated by making kimchi themselves, adding to the spirit of sharing.

Bae Nakho, Mayor of Gimcheon, Na Youngmin, Chairman of the Gimcheon City Council, and Lee Woochung and Choi Byunggeun, members of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Assembly, also attended the event to add messages of solidarity.
Through this initiative, the corporation delivered 2,000 kilograms of kimchi and 4,000 kilograms of rice to 200 households from vulnerable groups, including single-parent families and low-income households. In addition, 12 million won from the mutual growth fund, created from leasing idle land owned by the corporation, was donated to five local welfare facilities.
President Ham Jingyu stated, "The kimchi sharing event is an opportunity to fulfill our corporation's promise to stand with the local community," adding, "We will continue to uphold our role as a warm and caring public enterprise."
Yu Jwamok, Secretary General of the labor union, said, "Both labor and management share the same desire to help neighbors in need," and emphasized, "We will ensure that our cooperation-based social contribution efforts provide real support to the local community."
As the winter grows colder, the sharing efforts of public enterprises are becoming more than just annual events-they are emerging as a 'language of community recovery.' When the warmth of a single head of kimchi is delivered throughout the region, the public role is truly proven by the side of the citizens.
