Deepnoid, a first-generation medical artificial intelligence (AI) specialist in Korea, is set to expand its medical AI business targeting healthcare institutions in the Middle East and Africa.
On December 3, Deepnoid announced that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with IRC at "RSNA 2025" held in Chicago, United States, on December 2.
IRC is a global radiology specialist organization based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), offering a one-stop service within a single platform that covers medical imaging, interpretation, and report generation, under the banner of "smart interpretation services." Recently, IRC has been actively adopting medical AI, leading technological innovation in the screening market through workflow optimization and other initiatives.
The two companies will gradually pursue a range of joint projects, including: ▲ pilot projects introducing AI solutions to healthcare institutions in the Middle East and Africa, ▲ operation of medical imaging education and professional capacity-building programs, ▲ joint research and technology exchange related to medical AI, and ▲ identification of additional areas for cooperation.
Deepnoid will be responsible for applying and supporting its medical AI solutions, such as M4CXR and Deep:Neuro (DEEP:NEURO), and will provide product information and operational materials to ensure stable adoption by local healthcare institutions. IRC will focus on obtaining certifications that meet local regulatory requirements, leading service expansion and the development of hospital networks.
The Middle East is a region where demand for medical AI technologies, especially those centered on medical imaging, is rapidly increasing. Its proximity to Europe and Africa also facilitates entry into the global medical AI market. Deepnoid aims to establish a foundation for expanding the global medical AI ecosystem, while building collaborative models that can be used in real clinical settings, thereby entering the global market, including Europe.
Deepnoid has built and internally validated a "medical optimization foundation model" that can be extended beyond chest X-rays to various modalities such as CT and MRI. "M4CXR" is the first commercial product developed by applying this foundation model to chest X-rays. With this partnership, Deepnoid will use the Middle East market as a testbed to demonstrate its solutions.
