Lee Min-gyu, a third-year student in the Department of Military Science at Kyungnam University, has been elected as the president of the 58th Student Council for the 2026 academic year, while Kim Hyun, a third-year student in the Department of Physical Therapy, has been elected as vice president.
According to Kyungnam University, the student council election was held primarily through an online voting system on November 26.
For students who had difficulty participating online, an on-site polling station was also set up in the main auditorium on the third floor of Hanma Hall.

The newly elected 58th Student Council adopted "Hana" (meaning "One") as its slogan.
They pledged to revitalize campus culture by focusing on student participation initiatives such as the Cherry Blossom Festival, Night Run, Job Fair, and shuttle bus service for reserve forces.
Newly elected president Lee Min-gyu stated, "Since the 58th Student Council's name is 'Hana,' I will do my best to unite with fellow students and create a student council that we can build together."
