Charter Flights Four Times a Week Starting Late December
The Only Domestic Airline Operating from Gimhae Airport
Air Busan is resuming its Busan-Hanoi route after more than six years. This marks the first time the route has reopened since it was suspended due to COVID-19.
Air Busan will operate charter flights on this route four times a week (Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday) from December 31 of this year until March 1 of next year.
The flight departs from Gimhae International Airport at 8:30 p.m. and arrives in Hanoi at 11:30 p.m. The return flight leaves Hanoi at 12:40 a.m. the following day and arrives at Gimhae Airport at 7:05 a.m. An A321 NEO aircraft with 232 seats will be used for this route.
Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, is a popular tourist destination known for its historic architecture and natural scenery. Nearby Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and Sapa-recently dubbed the "Switzerland of Vietnam"-are also drawing increasing travel demand thanks to improved transportation infrastructure.
Air Busan launched regular flights on this route in October 2018 but suspended operations in February 2020 due to COVID-19. The company expects this resumption to boost connecting demand with its existing Vietnam routes, such as Da Nang and Nha Trang.
An Air Busan representative stated, "There are currently no domestic airlines operating this route from Gimhae Airport, so passenger convenience will improve. We will continue to expand route offerings to provide more options for local residents."
