The Most Prestigious Awards Ceremony to Be Held Next Month in Los Angeles, USA
"Clair Obscur" Nominated in Nine Categories
The nominees for The Game Awards (TGA), the most prestigious awards ceremony in the gaming industry in the United States, have been announced.
On November 17 (local time), the TGA 2025 judging panel revealed the list of nominees for a total of 24 categories, including Game of the Year (GOTY), during a live broadcast.
The GOTY nominees include: ▲Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 ▲Death Stranding 2: On the Beach ▲Donkey Kong Bananza ▲Hades II ▲Hollow Knight: Silksong ▲Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.
Clair Obscur, the debut title from French indie developer Sandfall Interactive, founded in 2020, has received praise for its unique world-building, direction, and gameplay. It has been nominated in nine categories, including GOTY, Best Game Direction, Best Narrative, and Best Art Direction. Additionally, three voice actors from the game have been nominated for Best Performance.
Death Stranding 2, directed by renowned action game creator Hideo Kojima, has received nominations in seven categories. Hollow Knight: Silksong by Team Cherry, one of the most anticipated indie games of the year, has been nominated in five categories.
Arc Raiders, developed by Embark Studios, a Swedish subsidiary of Nexon, is the only game involving a Korean company to be nominated. This title will compete for Best Multiplayer Game alongside Battlefield 6 and Elden Ring: Night Rain.
Since its release on October 30, Arc Raiders has created a global sensation. The PC Steam version recently reached a peak concurrent user count of 482,000, and global sales surpassed 4 million copies within two weeks.
In the esports categories, the Gen.G Esports League of Legends (LoL) team was nominated for Best Esports Team, while Gen.G's star player Jeong Jihoon, known as "Chovy," was nominated for Best Esports Athlete. Last year, T1 and Lee Sanghyeok, known as "Faker," won in their respective categories.
The Game Awards is the largest gaming awards ceremony and comprehensive game show in North America, hosted by Canadian game journalist Geoff Keighley. The ceremony will take place on December 12 (Korea Standard Time) at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, United States.
