The seminar introduced domestic and international trends in industrial safety design, as well as the project's outstanding achievements to date, categorized by type such as fire evacuation, safe walking, and smart manufacturing safety.
For the fire evacuation category, a case of developing an emergency evacuation manual tailored for elderly women was presented. In the safe walking category, a system utilizing responsive LED signals to prevent safety accidents in forklift blind spots was introduced. For the smart manufacturing safety category, a case was shared in which safety design was developed based on efficient space zoning through AI simulation.
In addition, representatives from companies located in industrial complexes shared their reasons for participating in the project, their experiences applying safety design in the workplace, and how workers' perceptions have changed after implementation.
Yoon Sangheum, President of the Korea Institute of Design Promotion, stated, "The Safety Service Design Project is a core initiative that we are prioritizing in response to the growing public demand for worker safety. We will continue to work with the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation to ensure that service design is effectively utilized as a means to guarantee the safety and well-being of workers."
