Kim Se, CEO of Garosero Research Institute, appeared at the police station after being sued and reported by Eon Hyeonjang, the operator of the YouTube channel 'Master of Business,' among others.
On November 11, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul announced that Kim was being questioned as a suspect on charges of defamation and insult under the Information and Communications Network Act.
Eon has filed more than 10 lawsuits and complaints against Kim since last year, claiming that the allegations raised by Kim, including stock price manipulation, are false.
Last month, during the National Assembly audit, Eon argued that the Gangnam Police Station, which was handling his case, had not summoned Kim for questioning. As controversy over this claim grew, the police assigned 16 cases related to Kim, including Eon's case, to a special investigation team.
Meanwhile, Kim is also under police investigation on charges of releasing a fabricated audio recording in May, which claimed that actor Kim Soohyun dated the late Kim Saeron when she was a minor. This case, along with four others, has already been largely investigated and has been excluded from the special investigation team's scope.
