Kumoh National Institute of Technology to Train AI-Based Defense Industry Engineers

RISE Project Group Hosts "Machine Learning Training Camp" as Part of K-U City Initiative
Enhancing Experience in Machine Learning, a Core Field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Technology

The RISE Project Group at Kumoh National Institute of Technology (Acting Director Kwon Ohyeong) held a "Machine Learning Training Camp" at the Gyeongju Kyowon Dream Center from November 6 to 7.

This two-day, one-night program was offered to 20 current students and focused intensively on both the theoretical and practical aspects of machine learning-a core field within artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

In particular, the curriculum was designed to strengthen practical skills required in the defense industry by featuring hands-on sessions in data preprocessing and modeling centered around major machine learning algorithms. In addition, students gained experience in data-driven decision-making through team-based projects utilizing real-world datasets.

The RISE Project Group at Kumoh National Institute of Technology has been operating a phased "Data Analysis and Engineering" training program with the goal of cultivating specialized talent for the defense industry.

This machine learning training was developed as an advanced course focused on practical applications of machine learning, building on the achievements of the Ansys Mechanical training held in August and the Python training conducted in October.

Kwon Ohyeong, Acting Director of the RISE Project Group at Kumoh National Institute of Technology, stated, "This machine learning training will greatly help students systematically acquire AI-based data analysis skills and develop the capabilities to apply them in real-world defense industry settings." He added, "Going forward, the RISE Project Group at Kumoh National Institute of Technology will continue to enhance advanced technology education and industry collaboration, contributing to the competitiveness of the local industry and the cultivation of future talent."
