Daewoo Engineering & Construction announced on November 7 that it has reorganized its nuclear power division, previously under the Plant Business Division, to report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The company explained that this move is aimed at strengthening the foundation for future growth drivers.
The company also revealed plans to establish a year-round, project-centered organizational structure to enhance its execution capabilities in new markets such as Turkmenistan, as well as existing sites in the Czech Republic and Mozambique. In addition, a new Construction Management (CM) organization has been established and expanded to ensure more meticulous management of large-scale domestic civil engineering projects, including the Greater Seoul Metropolitan Area Express Railway (GTX)-B private investment project, the undergrounding of the Dongbu Expressway, and the Hongcheon Pumped Storage Power Plant Units 1 and 2.
The company stated, "We are diversifying our portfolio beyond the traditional focus on housing and architecture to include domestic social overhead capital (SOC) and infrastructure, nuclear and renewable energy, and overseas projects, and we plan to build an organization that aligns with this strategy."
Under the Chief Safety Officer (CSO), two executive officers have been appointed to oversee both headquarters and field operations, in a move to strengthen the safety management control tower function. Additional staff dedicated to on-site inspections will be assigned to each regional safety team. To increase investment in artificial intelligence (AI), the AX Data Team has been newly established. This team will serve as the company-wide AI strategy organization, responsible for developing AI platforms, building company-wide data assets, and establishing related infrastructure.
Meanwhile, this year's executive appointments focused on performance and competency, with outstanding talent selected accordingly. An executive in their 40s was newly appointed, and a manager was named head of the AX Data Team. A company representative stated, "While continuing to prioritize safety and pursue sound management, we have also strengthened our nuclear power organization and expanded our smart construction teams."
