To Be Held Twice on June 10 and July 1
Gwangju Bukgu District announced on June 4 that it will launch the "Silver Beauty Memory-Making Project" to provide emotional support for senior citizens.
This program is designed to help seniors cherish their current appearance by offering beauty services and longevity photo sessions. Bukgu District will implement the project for the first time this year with a budget of 10 million KRW from district funds.
The beauty service will provide haircuts and hair dyeing for 100 seniors aged 65 and older. After the grooming session, photos will be taken and sent to participants' mobile phones. Participants will be recruited on a first-come, first-served basis at the event site on the day of the event.
The longevity photo session will be offered to 80 seniors aged 75 and older who are recommended by local administrative welfare centers. The entire process?including hair (cut and dry), makeup, hanbok rental, photo shoot, and frame production?will be provided. Professional hairdressers from the Gwangju Bukgu Branch of the Korea Beauticians Association will participate to ensure high-quality service.
This event will be held at Usan Community Welfare Center at 9 a.m. on June 10, and at Ochi Community Welfare Center at 9 a.m. on July 1. Participation is free of charge.
