The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education has selected 169 schools to participate in the "Health Promotion School" program.
A Health Promotion School is an institution that diagnoses students' health conditions and provides customized education and programs. The school and the local community collaborate to help students develop self-directed health management skills.
The provincial education office selected the Health Promotion Schools from among elementary, middle, high, and various other schools in the province, taking into account regional distribution, school level balance, operational plans, and on-site evaluations. In particular, 13 schools have been designated as "Health Promotion Model Schools," which will focus on operating AI-based customized smart health management classrooms and growth prediction systems.
The provincial education office has allocated a budget of 8.9 billion won for the operation of Health Promotion Schools, providing differentiated support for oral hygiene improvement projects, and distributing individual budgets to schools operating optional programs and model schools.
Meanwhile, on May 9, the provincial education office will hold a workshop at the Northern Office, with about 300 staff members and school administrators in attendance.
