Recruiting College Student Participants for Winter Break
From Business Planning to Professional Consultant Mentoring
Global accounting and consulting firm EY Hanyoung announced on the 24th that it will hold the ‘EY Hanyoung·JA Growth to Professional’ business plan competition for university students during the winter vacation. The application period is until January 9 next year.
EY Hanyoung·JA Growth to Professional is a business plan competition for university students jointly hosted by EY Hanyoung and JA Korea, a global non-profit youth education organization, now in its 6th year. It is part of EY’s social contribution philosophy and campaign, ‘EY Ripples,’ aiming to empower future generations.
The program goes beyond simple volunteering or one-time activities by focusing on supporting university students’ skill development and growth through talent donation by EY Hanyoung employees. It is distinguished by providing practical learning and growth opportunities rather than competition. So far, about 360 university students have participated in the competition and experienced growth, while over 500 EY Hanyoung employees have contributed their talents as mentors and more. It has established itself as a representative social contribution program utilizing EY Hanyoung’s expertise and employee capabilities, having received external awards three times.
Consultants from EY Consulting, EY Hanyoung’s consulting organization, and EY-Parthenon, its strategy consulting specialized organization, along with experts in audit, tax, and financial advisory, participate as instructors and mentors. Participating students can attend lectures on various topics during the competition and receive in-depth mentoring and feedback necessary for writing business plans.
The competition officially begins with an orientation on January 14 next year. The orientation, open to all applicants regardless of acceptance, features current consultants sharing their experiences and know-how in the consulting field. The list of successful applicants for the document screening will be announced on January 17, followed by online interviews conducted over two days on the 21st and 22nd. The final list of successful candidates will be announced on the 25th.
The final selected participants will take part in team building and soft skills workshops starting February 4 next year. Afterwards, they will be divided into teams to plan business ideas based on mentoring from EY Hanyoung experts and present their business plans through preliminary and final rounds. The competition concludes on February 27 with the final judging and the selection of the best and outstanding teams. University students wishing to participate can apply through the JA Korea website by January 9 next year.
