Five Outstanding Cases of Proactive Administration Selected and Awarded

The opening of the nation's top-tier multi-cultural space for children and families, the "Family Empathy Center," has been selected as Taean County's best case of proactive administration.
Taean County announced that, as a result of the "2024 Second Half Proactive Administration Best Practices" evaluation, five cases were finally selected, including the opening of the Family Empathy Center; the hosting of the "2024 Flower and Sea Taean Chrysanthemum Festival"; resolution of resident conflicts related to the Yeongmok Port project (all rated as excellent); proactive response to rural disasters; and the establishment of sports infrastructure (both rated as encouraging). An awards ceremony was held on the 3rd at the county office's main auditorium, attended by County Mayor Kase-ro and public officials.
The Taean County Family Empathy Center, a multi-cultural facility for infants, youth, and entire families, opened on October 26 with a total project cost of approximately 27.8 billion KRW.
It is evaluated as a top-level facility in Korea, greatly contributing to resolving cultural welfare imbalances and alleviating the burden of parenting for parents.
The three-story building, with a site area of 16,324 square meters, a building area of 3,209 square meters, and a total floor area of 6,021 square meters, is divided into the "Family Center Wing" and the "Children's Dream Playground Wing." It is equipped with a children's swimming pool, playground, science center, media center, small library, creative studio, Dream Learning Center, shared kitchen, climbing wall, ground fountain, and forest experience center for infants.
In addition to the five best practices, the county evaluated that there were many achievements in proactive administration, such as realizing a leading disaster safety city, pre-preparation of temporary building extension reports, establishing a smart mountain product distribution center, restoring the status of the representative seafood blue crab, and creating the Baekhwasan Water Park.
County Mayor Kase-ro stated, "I believe proactive administration is most important for resolving residents' inconveniences and regional development, so we are making every effort to discover and promote various projects. Based on this year's achievements, all public officials will work hard to achieve fruitful results in proactive administration next year as well."
