Kue Ram Elementary School, located in the Phu Ram area of Phu Tho Province, Vietnam, was facing difficulties due to aging facilities and a shortage of classrooms.
The existing classrooms were moldy and had rust-colored water dripping, raising concerns about the students' health. In addition, due to the lack of classrooms, about 200 of the 400 students were attending classes in the village hall instead of classrooms.
Children in the area who could not even attend school due to exceeding the enrollment capacity were left without the opportunity to learn.
Good People invested 350 million KRW to remodel one classroom building of Kue Ram Elementary School and reconstruct another classroom building as a two-story structure.
As a result of this project, all students can now attend classes in classrooms. Good People also expects to provide educational opportunities to preschool children in the area.
Chairman Lee Young-hoon of Good People said, “We carried out this project to create an environment where students can study freely,” and added, “We hope Kue Ram Elementary School will become a place where children who will lead the future of Phu Tho Province can freely nurture their dreams.”
Meanwhile, Good People has a branch in Hanoi, Vietnam, and is conducting various development cooperation projects in fields such as education and healthcare. In November 2022, it also reconstructed a deteriorated kindergarten in Kim Dinh commune, Hai Duong Province, Vietnam.
