2022 Haenam Ttangkkeut Cup National Youth Club Soccer Tournament Overall U-12 Runner-up
[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] The Muan-gun Youth Soccer Team (hereinafter Muan FC) in Jeollanam-do achieved a great success by finishing as the overall runner-up in the U-12 category.
From the 11th to the 15th, over five days, the U-12 team participated in the '2022 Haenam Ttangkkeut Cup National Youth Club Soccer Tournament' held at Useul Sports Park in Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do, and secured the runner-up position.
The 2022 Haenam Ttangkkeut Cup National Youth Club Soccer Tournament was hosted by the Korea Youth Soccer Club Federation and sponsored by Haenam-gun, Haenam Sports Council, Haenam Soccer Association, and Stars Sports Co., Ltd. The tournament was divided into six categories: U7-8, U9, U10, U11, U12, and middle school division (grades 1-2), with a total of 64 teams and approximately 1,600 players participating nationwide.
Muan FC's U12 team remained undefeated with 4 wins and 6 draws from the preliminary rounds to the top 5 matches. Subsequently, they drew 0-0 against Cheonan Seonghansoo FC, but unfortunately lost 2-3 in the penalty shootout, finishing as the runner-up.
In this tournament, Muan FC's coach Noh Hyun-soo received the Excellent Coach Award, U12 captain Lee Dong-hyun was awarded the Excellent Player Award, and the U11 team received the Fair Play Award.
Coach Noh Hyun-soo of Muan FC said, “The passion and skills of our Muan FC children were the best nationwide, and we will work hard with the kids to ensure victory at the Muan-gun tournament to be held this October.” He also expressed gratitude, saying, “This result was made possible thanks to the support of Muan-gun and the parents.”
Meanwhile, Muan FC is a youth soccer team founded in December 2019 by parents centered around students who love soccer. Currently, with increasing player registrations from Namak and Oryong districts, the team consists of 60 players, 1 coach, and 1 manager.
The operating committee formed to manage the soccer team consists of 7 members, all of whom are parents. Their high participation is driven by their interest and love for the children, and they maintain transparency by regularly disclosing all operational matters to the parents.
Additionally, following the Sports Club Act enacted in June this year, the club is preparing for official registration, raising expectations for fulfilling its fundamental role in promoting healthy leisure activities and nurturing outstanding athletes among local youth.
