[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Ki-dong] Sionseong Regional Children's Center (Representative Jeong Yong-hwan) announced on the 7th that it held a meaningful time of sharing the love received from the local community back to the community together with the children in celebration of the 49th Parents' Day.
This sharing event was conducted in collaboration with Yongdang 1-dong Administrative Welfare Center and Mokpo Sion聖 Church. Although it was Parents' Day, they specially visited five elderly living alone without children or family to visit, delivering carnations and gifts made by the children themselves, reading handwritten letters, and expressing their gratitude.
An elderly person in Yongdang 1-dong, who received gifts from the children and turned 100 years old this year, said, "Because of COVID-19, it has been difficult to meet my children, so I am truly grateful that children like grandchildren came to visit."
A child who visited the elderly's home said, "At first, I was shy, but seeing the elderly happy made me feel proud, and I want to participate again if I have the chance."
Center Director Jin Kyung-ok said, "We have received a lot of love from the local community, and I am very glad to practice sharing with the children on this occasion. I thank Yongdang 1-dong Administrative Welfare Center and Mokpo Sion聖 Church for connecting us to make this sharing possible," adding, "Going forward, Sionseong Regional Children's Center will contribute to spreading the culture of sharing in the local community and do its best to help children grow up properly."
Sionseong Regional Children's Center in Yongdang 1-dong provides comprehensive welfare services such as protection and education, provision of healthy play and recreation, emotional support, and connection with the local community for the sound growth of children in the community who need after-school care.
