Goseong County in Gangwon Province has raised the incentive discount rate for the Goseong Sarang Gift Certificate starting March 1.
The county plans to increase the incentive discount rate from the previous 10% to a special rate of 12% as part of support measures for regions experiencing population decline. The maximum monthly purchase limit per individual will remain unchanged at 1 million won.
To receive the discount benefit, users must register their card through the exclusive app for card-type gift certificates, 'Geurigo,' and use it accordingly. The gift certificates can be used at affiliated stores and traditional markets within the county that have annual sales of 3 billion won or less.
An official from Goseong County stated, "We hope this increase in incentives will help alleviate the burden on residents caused by the economic downturn and also revitalize small businesses. We ask for active participation from residents to help establish a virtuous cycle in the local economy through the Goseong Sarang Card."
Meanwhile, small business owners within the county who wish to become affiliated merchants for the Goseong Sarang Card can apply at any time by bringing their business registration certificate to the Local Economy Team of the Economic and Sports Department or to the township and town administrative welfare centers.
