First Non-Metropolitan University to Surpass 30,000 Early Applicants
Ranked No. 1 Nationwide Among Large Universities in Regular Admissions
Educational Innovation Driven by AI and SDN Infrastructure
Leads to Increased Applications
Keimyung University (President Shin Ilhee) achieved a 100% enrollment rate for the second consecutive year, with all 4,622 students within the regular quota enrolling for the 2026 academic year.
Despite a decline in the school-age population and changing admissions environments for regional private universities, Keimyung University maintained strong demand in both early and regular admissions, resulting in stable and full enrollment.

For the 2026 academic year, all 4,622 students within the regular quota registered, achieving a 100% enrollment rate.
This marks a second consecutive year of complete enrollment, following the 2025 academic year.
In particular, for early admissions, Keimyung University became the first non-metropolitan university to surpass 30,000 applicants, while for regular admissions, it ranked first nationwide among large universities (with an incoming class of over 3,000 students).
The strong performance across both early and regular admissions is analyzed as the key driver behind achieving a 100% enrollment rate.
The university attributes the increase in applications to ongoing educational innovation, including the expansion of AI-based education, the establishment of advanced digital infrastructure, interdisciplinary education between majors, and the creation of a practice-oriented learning environment.
It was noted that Keimyung University was the first university in Korea to simultaneously establish artificial intelligence (AI) and software-defined network (SDN) infrastructure, and to expand AI education across all academic divisions, which significantly enhanced the university's competitiveness.
Flexible academic systems, strengthened extracurricular programs, and expanded industry-academia cooperation were also assessed as factors that increased trust among applicants and their parents.
Hwang Byunghoon, Dean of Admissions (Professor of English Language and Literature), stated, "Strengthening on-site admissions outreach through high school visits, parent consultations, and information sessions for teachers led to a tangible increase in applications. The high level of interest shown during the application stage continued through to final registration, resulting in a 100% enrollment rate for the second consecutive year."
He added, "Going forward, we will continue to operate a fair and transparent admissions process and pursue educational innovation to meet the demands of future industries, thereby further enhancing the university's competitiveness."
