The 28th Cheongdo Orchid Society Spring Exhibition, a festival for orchid enthusiasts in the Cheongdo area, was held from March 1 to 2 at the main conference hall of the Cheongdo Agricultural Cooperative Economic Business Department. The event concluded with great interest from both residents and orchid lovers.
This exhibition, organized by the Cheongdo Orchid Society (President Park Jongsul), was arranged to expand the base of the local orchid culture and to promote exchanges among orchid enthusiasts. Around 150 orchid works, each cultivated with great care by the members and featuring a variety of appearances, were exhibited and captivated the attention of visitors.
Standing in front of the displays, visitors observed the orchids, moving slowly while following their fragrance, sharing their experiences and emotions with one another.
The grand prize was jointly awarded to member Park Jongsul (for the piece “Jungtu”) and member Lee Doyong (for the piece “Jugum Soshim”).
One work was recognized for its vivid patterns and stable flower shape, while the other expressed the vitality of spring orchids in harmony with the flower, both receiving acclaim.
President Park Jongsul remarked, “This exhibition was an opportunity to share the passion and dedication of our members,” and added, “We will continue our exchange activities to further popularize orchid culture in the future.”
Yoon Eunkyung, head of the Culture, Arts and Sports Division, expressed gratitude to those who contributed to the successful hosting of the exhibition and asked for continued efforts to further enrich the culture and arts of the region.
Meanwhile, the Cheongdo Orchid Society continues to establish itself as a local cultural event by presenting high-quality works through its annual regular exhibitions.
