Book Packs Delivered to 392 New Elementary School Students in the City
The Yeongcheon Lifelong Learning Center (Director: Jeong Kyeongja) distributed 'Bookstart Bookwing Book Packs' to 392 new students entering 18 elementary schools within the city in 2026.
The 'Bookstart Project' is a reading culture initiative that gifts books and supports reading activities from infancy through elementary school, helping children establish lifelong reading habits.

Starting this year, the program’s eligibility has been expanded from infants aged 3 months residing in Yeongcheon to include newborns from 0 months of age.
'Bookstart Bookwing' is a program designed to celebrate elementary school enrollment and help children begin their school lives with books. The book pack includes two picture books, a reading guidebook, and an eco-friendly tote bag.
On March 3, the Lifelong Learning Center personally handed out the book packs to six new students at Imgo Elementary School's entrance ceremony, supporting the children as they embark on a new chapter.
An official from the city library stated, "We will continue to foster a reading-friendly environment and offer high-quality reading culture programs so that children can grow up alongside books."
