No Damages Reported by Korean Companies Operating Overseas
Ministry Establishes Joint Public-Private Emergency Response Team
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on March 3 that it held a "Middle East Situation Review Meeting" with the International Contractors Association of Korea and companies operating in the Middle East region. The meeting was convened to assess the situation of Korean companies operating overseas and review safety measures amid escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
According to the ministry, as of March 3, no damages have been reported by Korean companies operating in the Middle East, including Iran, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Kuwait, Iraq, Bahrain, and Jordan.
Each company is closely monitoring local developments and implementing remote work for employees in high-risk areas.
The ministry urged the government, the association, and companies to maintain an emergency communication system and to thoroughly prepare evacuation plans and other safety measures for each company.
Kim Seokki, Director General for Construction Policy, stated, "We will establish a joint public-private emergency response team to continuously monitor any damages or evacuation situations involving our companies," adding, "We will cooperate with relevant organizations to ensure the safety of workers and the protection of businesses."
