A Japanese IT company has drawn attention for consistently offering scholarships to secure talent from domestic junior colleges, sending a steady stream of "love calls" for nine consecutive years.
On March 3, Youngjin College in Daegu (President Choi Jaeyoung) announced that Watanabe Yokiyushi, Chairman of global Japanese IT giant ISFNET Co., Ltd., visited the college and donated a scholarship fund of 20 million won.

With this year's donation, ISFNET's cumulative scholarship contributions have surpassed 150 million won since the first donation in 2018. This achievement is the result of ongoing global industry-academia collaboration over the past nine years and is credited with making significant contributions to nurturing global talent and expanding student employment opportunities.
The scholarship presentation ceremony, held in the president's office that day, was attended by Chairman Watanabe Yokiyushi, Vice President Motomura, and Heo Ok-in, CEO of ISFNET Korea. Youngjin College was represented by President Choi Jaeyoung and Ryu Yonghee, Head of the Department of Computer Information. Chairman Watanabe encouraged the students' future growth by presenting the scholarship, and President Choi expressed his gratitude.
Earlier that morning, the Chairman of ISFNET held a meeting in the Computer Information Department conference room with faculty from the AI Global IT Department to discuss future employment linkage programs and ways to strengthen industry-academia cooperation. The company also held a corporate information session for second-year students of the AI Global IT Department.
In the afternoon, a student meeting was held for third-year students of the AI Global IT Department and ISFNET job applicants, featuring a Q&A session about preparing for employment in Japan and the local working environment.
ISFNET is a global IT specialist company headquartered in Tokyo, operating the largest-scale business in Japan's cloud, solutions, and IT infrastructure sectors, with branch offices in Korea, China, India, and elsewhere. Since 2017, the company has established an international joint customized education agreement with the Computer Information Department of Youngjin College, striving to nurture customized talent reflecting the demands of the curriculum.
President Choi Jaeyoung said, "ISFNET's ongoing interest and nine years of consecutive scholarship donations have become a great source of motivation for our students," adding, "We will continue to do our best to expand global career paths and employment opportunities."
Meanwhile, a total of 111 graduates have secured employment at ISFNET through the partnership this year.
