The Korea Rural Community Corporation announced on March 3 that it operated the Korea Pavilion at the "2026 Japan Niigata Agricultural Expo," held from February 25 to 27, where it achieved a total of USD 56.57 million in export consultations, signed a financial business agreement worth USD 30,000, and secured four sample orders.

The Japan Niigata Agricultural Expo is a specialized agricultural exhibition attended by more than 200 agricultural equipment companies from around the world, as well as local farmers, agricultural corporations, and distribution professionals-totaling approximately 12,000 participants. The host region, Niigata Prefecture, is Japan's largest rice-producing area and is actively adopting smart farming practices. It is considered a key hub for expanding into the Hokuriku and Tohoku regions of Japan.
Together with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the corporation organized the Korea Pavilion with 14 domestic agricultural equipment companies, capturing the attention of local buyers. A representative from the corporation said, "Both organizations focused on pre-marketing efforts to generate tangible export results," adding, "Prior to the expo, we connected domestic participating companies with major Japanese distribution companies and agricultural industry buyers to enhance the effectiveness of export consultations."
In addition, the corporation established an online promotional center on the website of the Agricultural Industry Export Integrated Support System, which it operates, as well as on the official expo website. This allowed local buyers to access information about Korean products in advance and make appointments for consultations.
Thanks to such strategic support, 232 consultations (totaling USD 56.57 million) were conducted at the expo, confirming strong interest in K-agricultural equipment. In particular, one financial business agreement worth USD 30,000 was signed, and four sample orders were secured, paving the way for entry into the Japanese market.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Korea Rural Community Corporation plan to use the achievements of this expo as momentum to accelerate the expansion of K-agricultural equipment exports this year. Starting with the Japan expo, they plan to operate the Korea Pavilion at a total of nine exhibitions, including those in China and the Dominican Republic (March), Vietnam (May), Australia (August), Saudi Arabia and Vietnam (October), and T?rkiye and Italy (November). Through these efforts, they aim to diversify export markets to the Middle East, South America, and Oceania.
Juyoungil, Water Resources Management Director at the Korea Rural Community Corporation, said, "This year, we will comprehensively support our agricultural equipment companies to achieve substantial results in the global market through global growth packages, participation in overseas expos and roadshows, and export consultation events inviting overseas buyers." He added, "With strategic support and thorough follow-up management, we will take the lead in achieving the government’s goal of USD 3.8 billion in agricultural industry exports."
