Organized in Celebration of the 60th Taxpayers’ Day
On March 3, Changwon Special City awarded plaques of appreciation to diligent local taxpayers in commemoration of the 60th Taxpayers’ Day. These individuals and companies have set an example for citizens by faithfully paying local taxes and contributing to the management of local finances.
This awards ceremony was organized to allow taxpayers who conscientiously pay local taxes to feel a sense of reward and pride, and to foster a social atmosphere that respects diligent tax payment.
In accordance with the Ordinance on Support for Diligent Taxpayers of Changwon City, the city selected taxpayers who paid at least 300 million won in local taxes as corporations or at least 50 million won as individuals last year, and who have no record of delinquency. This year, three companies-Hanwha Engine Co., Ltd., Sebang Battery Co., Ltd., and GMB Korea Co., Ltd.-as well as two individuals, Hee Sun Park, CEO of Dongbu Hoe Center, and Hwan Tae Kim, CEO of Kia Auto-Q Jinhae Service, were selected as diligent taxpayers.
In addition to receiving a plaque of appreciation, diligent taxpayers are granted benefits such as: a two-year deferment of local tax audits; relaxation of collateral requirements when requesting deferral or extension of local tax collection; and being selected as invitees to various events or field trips hosted by the city.
Jang Geumyong, Acting Mayor of Changwon, stated, "I would like to thank everyone who has faithfully paid local taxes despite the difficult economic circumstances. We will do our best to ensure that the taxes you have paid are used as valuable resources for citizen welfare, youth job creation, and regional development."
