Integrated Pregnancy and Childbirth Call Center 'Yeonsu I-LINK'
Baby Planners Provide Personalized One-on-One Care
Yeonsu District in Incheon is launching the full-scale operation of its integrated maternal and child health consultation platform, ‘Yeonsu I-LINK,’ which enables residents to easily access comprehensive information on pregnancy and childbirth support and receive professional, tailored consultations.
According to the district office on March 3, Yeonsu I-LINK stands for “a network of happiness connecting I and myself (LINK),” and its core feature is the integration of previously scattered consultation hotlines for various programs into a single dedicated number (1644-7491).
Through this system, residents can now experience a ‘one-stop’ administrative service, connecting directly to professional consultation without cumbersome procedures.
Six nurses from the Maternal and Child Health Team are assigned as professional ‘Baby Planners’ to provide one-on-one consultations through Yeonsu I-LINK. When a consultation request is received, these professionals systematically analyze each individual’s situation (such as infertility, pregnancy preparation, or high-risk factors), classify clients into general or priority management groups, and provide in-depth post-consultation management that goes beyond simple information delivery.
For couples struggling with infertility due to lack of information, a ‘specialized, close-contact infertility roadmap’ is also offered. Baby Planners guide clients through every step, from examinations to each stage of medical procedures, and connect them to psychological counseling and healing programs to help ease the emotional distress caused by discontinued or unsuccessful treatments.
The number of newborns in Yeonsu District increased by approximately 15.5% from 1,962 in 2023 to a provisional total of 2,535 last year. The district office expects that this platform will significantly improve the quality of services in response to the rapidly increasing administrative demand.
Jaeho Lee, Mayor of Yeonsu District, stated, “We will do our utmost to provide highly effective health services together with our professional Baby Planners, so that every heartfelt wait can lead to a precious birth.”
