Completion of a Nationwide Accounting Network
The Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants announced on March 3 that it held the ‘Simultaneous Launch Ceremony of the 12 Seoul Regional Certified Public Accountants Associations’ at the Koreana Hotel in Seoul on February 26.
With the launch of these regional associations in Seoul, the ‘Regional Network Activation Project,’ which has been gradually promoted since last year, has been completed. The Institute established an organizational network by region, starting with Gangwon in October last year, Jeju in November, Incheon (four regions) in December, and Gyeonggi (14 regions) in January of this year, culminating with Seoul (12 regions) this time. This has resulted in a comprehensive nationwide network of accounting professionals.
Approximately 150 people attended the launch ceremony, including Chairman Unyul Choi, the inaugural presidents of the 12 Seoul regional associations, presidents of regional associations under the provincial Certified Public Accountants Associations, board members of the Institute, and members from accounting firms and private practices in Seoul. Together, they celebrated the completion of the organization and shared a moment of unity.

The inaugural presidents for each of the 12 regional associations, who will be responsible for their respective areas in Seoul, are Certified Public Accountants with extensive practical experience and a deep understanding of local characteristics. They will now begin their official activities.
With the establishment of its nationwide network, the Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants plans to actively incorporate the voices from the field in each region into its operations and further strengthen its role as a public-interest professional organization.
In his welcoming remarks, Chairman Unyul Choi emphasized, “Seoul is the region where the flow of the economy and policy begins and converges most rapidly, so Certified Public Accountants who are well-acquainted with the field should be at the core of realizing the value of accounting. I hope that the 12 regional associations launching today will become hubs that invigorate exchanges among members, enhance accounting transparency in the local economic field, and serve as the foundation for building trust throughout our society.”
