'Tourism-Dure' is a resident-led policy project that supports local residents in starting and sustainably running tourism businesses-such as accommodation, food and beverage, travel, experiences, and souvenirs-based on local resources and stories unique to their region. Since its launch in 2013, the project has supported 1,411 resident businesses across 152 regions nationwide through 2025.

This year, the call for applications covers 21 regions nationwide, including five newly selected areas: Jung-gu in Ulsan, Gwangmyeong in Gyeonggi, Cheorwon in Gangwon, Seocheon in South Chungcheong, and Haenam in South Jeolla. Approximately 50 resident businesses will be selected.

The selected resident businesses will be provided with tailored, step-by-step support for up to five years, within a limit of 110 million won. This support includes entrepreneurship and business management training, expert consulting (such as product development, design, and promotional marketing), pilot projects, and brand development. A dedicated 'Tourism-Dure PD' for each region will provide close assistance to help the businesses grow.

The call for applications is open to communities of three or more local residents who are planning to start a tourism business or wish to improve the management of an existing business. The final selection will be made through a document review, on-site inspection, and presentation evaluation.

Applications can be submitted via the Tourism-Dure website until 2 p.m. on March 31. Further details are available on the Tourism-Dure website, the Korea Tourism Industry Portal 'TourRaj', and the websites of relevant local governments.

Kang Dongjin, Director General of Tourism Policy at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, stated, "Tourism-Dure is a project that fosters self-sustaining tourism businesses through customized, phased support over five years. We will help local residents turn their lives and stories into tourism content, enabling them to grow into brands that represent their regions."
