Busan Transportation Corporation Football Team to Host K3 League Home Opener at Gudeok Stadium

The Busan Transportation Corporation Football Team (CEO and Club Owner: Lee Byungjin) will play its 2026 K3 League home opener against the Pocheon Citizen Football Club at Gudeok Stadium on March 7 at 2 p.m.

This opening match will serve as a stage to reaffirm the team’s competitiveness, which is built on high work rate and organizational strength. Last season, the club underwent a complete overhaul, replacing the entire coaching staff and all players.

Instead of recruiting star players, the team was restructured around young and promising talent, resulting in a 6th place finish out of 15 teams. By focusing on nurturing prospects, maintaining a balance between offense and defense, and strengthening teamwork, the club climbed seven spots compared to the 2024 season. The team was evaluated as having secured practical competitiveness through efficient football based on high work rate and strong organization.

For the 2026 season, the club aims to achieve a balance between youth and experience by adding seasoned veterans to its young squad. By incorporating the responsibility and composure of the veterans, the team has enhanced its game management and crisis response capabilities, expressing determination to maintain their upward momentum from the start of the season.

Head Coach Baek Kihong stated, “Last season was a time to confirm the club’s potential,” and added, “This year, we will improve our tactical completeness and match focus to build a team that remains unshaken in decisive moments.” He also said, “From the opening match, we will show our fans a more advanced team by taking the initiative in the game.”
