Enjoy the Night View of the Han River at Haengjusanseong
Open Until 10 p.m. on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays Each Month
Goyang Special City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Donghwan) announced on March 3 that, beginning on March 14 and continuing through October, Haengjusanseong will be open at night on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month, allowing citizens to relax while enjoying the beautiful night view.
Haengjusanseong has long been regarded as a popular destination where visitors can appreciate both the scenic beauty along the Han River and its nighttime views.
Haengjusanseong is the historic site of the Battle of Haengju, one of the three great victories of the Imjin War, and is imbued with the patriotic spirit of General Gwon Yul. The fortress is a doughnut-shaped earthen fortification surrounding Deogyangsan, with a total perimeter of approximately 1 kilometer.
Visitors can start at the Great Victory Gate, pass by the statue of General Gwon Yul, and explore sites such as Chungjangsa and Deogyangjeong. They can then climb to the summit, where the Haengju Battle Monument stands, to enjoy the cool river breeze and panoramic night views of the Han River.
The night opening hours for Haengjusanseong are from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with last admission at 9:00 p.m. Admission is free of charge.
Parking is available at Haengjusanseong's first and second parking lots. During regular hours, parking fees apply. However, for those entering for the night opening after 6:00 p.m., parking is free.
A Goyang City official stated, "Through this night opening, we hope many citizens will create memories as they enjoy the sunset over the Han River and the night scenery of Haengjusanseong. We will continue our efforts to promote the historical value and attractions of Goyang City."
