On March 3, Goyang Special City (Mayor Lee Donghwan) announced that the opening stage of the world tour has been confirmed for the main stadium of Goyang Sports Complex, and as a result, the city will serve as a launchpad for K-culture.
In particular, this concert will be held first in Goyang City among countless cities worldwide. Since the tour's kickoff draws the most intense attention from global audiences and the international press, the city plans to firmly establish its brand value as a 'global city of culture and the arts' on the world stage.
Last year, the city proved its capabilities in hosting urban K-pop content by consecutively attracting BTS member J-Hope's encore concert, Jin's first fan concert, and the offline event 'BTS FESTA.' Based on the large-scale event data and know-how accumulated over the past two years, the city will operate an even more meticulous and detailed administrative support system for this world tour to minimize inconvenience for visitors and ensure flawless event management.
To this end, the city will hold a briefing in March to move into the full implementation phase for successfully hosting the concert.
The upcoming briefing will include key departments of Goyang City as well as related agencies such as the police and fire departments. They plan to focus discussions on various support measures, including safety management for crowd control, expansion of public transportation and traffic control, and city marketing linked with the concert.
With a large influx of international visitors expected, the city also plans to implement comprehensive support covering various aspects of the city, such as inspections of accommodation and tourism readiness.
A Goyang City official stated, "We are very honored to host the start of BTS's world tour in Goyang City, and we will mobilize all the experience we have accumulated in organizing large-scale events to ensure this will be the best moment for everyone. We will fully leverage Goyang City's rich cultural infrastructure to solidify our status as a global hub for major performances," he added.
