On February 3, the Disabled Entrepreneurs Comprehensive Support Center announced that it is recruiting participants for the "2026 1st Startup Commercialization Support Project for People with Disabilities" until March 3.
The startup commercialization fund support project provides up to 20 million won for costs needed for starting a business or making a fresh start, including store interior and remodeling, brand development, marketing and promotion, equipment purchases, and closure expenses. This year, a total of 60 entrepreneurs with disabilities will be supported through three rounds of recruitment announcements.
This year, the required documents for applicants have been simplified, and an online application method through Startupnet has been introduced to further enhance accessibility and convenience in the application process.
Last year, the Disabled Entrepreneurs Comprehensive Support Center supported a total of 60 entrepreneurs with disabilities. In particular, considering the self-employment crisis, with the number of business closures exceeding 1 million, the center selected and supported those seeking to restart their businesses after closure through a separate track. As a result, five individuals successfully launched new businesses in different industries. This year, the center will continue to support restart entrepreneurs, including providing closure cost support and restart entrepreneurship education.
The Disabled Entrepreneurs Comprehensive Support Center goes beyond one-time or cash-based support by helping startup companies sustain and grow through expert consultations and by strengthening connections between follow-up management and support projects.
Vico Solution, a building materials manufacturing company that started through the 2024 commercialization support, used the 20 million won grant to establish its office environment and laid its business foundation by receiving one-on-one expert consulting from the business planning stage. By differentiating itself with eco-friendly vacuum insulation materials and patent-based construction services, the company won the Minister of SMEs and Startups Award at last year's Startup Item Competition for People with Disabilities and achieved annual sales of 1 billion won, demonstrating rapid growth in a short period. The company continues its efforts to expand its business by participating in various programs offered by the Disabled Entrepreneurs Comprehensive Support Center, such as the National Disabled Entrepreneurs Conference investment consultation and the Hong Kong overseas investment (IR) support project.
Applications can be submitted by mail, in person, by email, or through the official Startupnet website. Detailed information, including required documents, can be found on the announcements section of the Disabled Entrepreneurs Comprehensive Support Center website.
