Magnitude 5.6 Earthquake Strikes Sea North-Northeast of Okinawa Prefecture, Japan

The Korea Meteorological Administration, citing foreign observation agencies, reported that a magnitude 5.6 earthquake occurred at 5:12 p.m. on December 30, 2025, in the sea 199 kilometers north-northeast of Naha City, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan.

The epicenter was located at latitude 27.80 degrees north and longitude 128.60 degrees east.
