Practical Training Focused on Climate Change Response and the Uljin Agricultural Transformation
Uljin County in North Gyeongsang Province will hold the '2026 New Year Practical Training for Farmers' a total of 11 times, from December 10, 2025 to January 15, 2026.
This training program has been organized to disseminate practical technologies in response to climate change and foster strategic crops as part of the 'Uljin Agricultural Transformation.' It will take place in the main conference room on the third floor of the Uljin County Agricultural Technology Center.
Comprising a total of 11 subjects, the training will officially begin with a special lecture on December 10.
On the opening day, Nam Jaejak, Director of the Korea Precision Agriculture Research Institute, will deliver a special lecture on the topic, 'Understanding Precision Agriculture in the Era of Climate Change and Innovation Strategies for Future Agriculture.'
Subsequent sessions will focus on technical training for strategic crops such as paddy soybeans, shiitake mushrooms, paddy potatoes, and paddy onions, as well as the expansion of double cropping. In particular, practical, field-oriented subjects will cover topics such as selecting varieties in response to the climate crisis, restructuring cropping systems, and disaster prevention technologies, all aimed at enhancing farmers' management capabilities and increasing their income.
This year’s training will also support practical problem-solving through Q&A sessions and discussions centered on real farm cases, addressing field challenges such as the spread of sesame leaf spot disease and pre-harvest sprouting.
This year, the training sessions will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. All residents of Uljin County are eligible to participate, and registration can be completed on-site on the day of each session without prior application.
Park Mijeong, Director of the Rural Support Division, stated, "The 2026 New Year Practical Training for Farmers is a key project to enhance the competitiveness of Uljin agriculture and strengthen the practical capabilities of our farmers," adding, "We will focus our administrative resources to ensure that this training serves as a practical education for responding to the climate crisis and preparing for the future of Uljin agriculture."
