"Expected to Become a Landmark in Northwestern Gyeonggi"
Shinsegae Property, the operator of Starfield, announced on December 3 that it will open "Starfield Village Unjeong" in Unjeong New Town, Paju, Gyeonggi Province, on December 5.
Starfield Village is a community-focused shopping space that combines Shinsegae Property’s expertise in developing complex shopping malls under the Starfield brand with functions that serve the local community. Designed under the concept of "Better Everyday Habits," it allows customers to enjoy shopping, gourmet dining, leisure, and social interaction-all within walking distance.
Starfield Village Unjeong, the first location to open, consists of the "Central" area at the heart of Hillstate The Unjeong and surrounding low-rise sections, with a total operating area of approximately 52,230 square meters (about 15,800 pyeong). The Central section (floors 1 to 5) alone covers about 25,686 square meters (about 7,770 pyeong) and will debut with over 100 brands.
Numerous Brands Making Their Regional Debut
The "Central Pod" at the core of the first and second floors and the tiered lounge "Bookstair" are key spaces within Starfield Village Unjeong. Visitors can enjoy coffee, reading, relaxation, and conversation in the duplex bookshelf lounge, surrounded by a total of over 36,000 books. On the third and fourth floors, the curved play wall "Upstair," which follows the walls, provides a space where children can explore and play freely along the structures. The outdoor rooftop gardens on the fourth and fifth floors are landscaped to reflect the changing seasons.
At Starfield Village Unjeong, brands such as Muji, Xiaomi, BYD, Audi, Drawfit, and Artisans Bakers will open their first stores in the Paju area. In January next year, Musinsa Standard will also open its first regional store. The global sports brand Decathlon will introduce the "Unjeong Running Center," a runner-only service zone available exclusively in Paju.
Additionally, Starfield Village Unjeong will be the first to offer the "Wellness Pet Village," a pet daycare service equipped with a pet kindergarten, hotel, and pet-friendly cafe, as well as the "Wellness Animal Medical Center," a comprehensive medical platform providing 24-hour internal medicine and surgical care for pets.
Family-Focused Content for Parents in Their 30s and 40s
The self-development lounge "Time Chamber" offers a variety of room sizes, from single seats to small group rooms, providing not only a place for parents to relax but also supporting self-development and coworking. The total wellness beauty salon "Occam Wellness Studio" offers sweet healing in daily parenting life through programs run by professional therapists.
The multi-sensory play and kids’ class "Jjaekkak Dagam" and the kids’ sports entertainment facility "Champion the Black Belt" welcome children with a variety of hands-on programs. The urban aquarium cafe "Upu Upu" provides a unique experience where visitors can observe various marine creatures and reptiles.
Starfield’s original kids’ library "Byeolmadang Kids" is designed as an open, circular space where children can freely enjoy reading and play. The shared-interest platform "Classkok" offers classes that both parents and children can enjoy together, providing new kinds of fun.
Expanding Culinary Experiences from Delis to Fine Dining
The food select shop "Bites Place" curates popular brands already proven at existing Starfield locations, offering a gourmet selection. Visitors can find brands such as "Gonoke," a Japanese home-style croquette brand; "Cheeple," known for its rich-flavored cheesecakes; and "Zesty Saloon," a famous shrimp burger eatery from Seongsu-dong, Seoul.
On "Gourmet Street," visitors can experience flavors from around the world. Modern Chinese restaurant "Mootan," Japanese-style tonkatsu restaurant "Katsu Shoshin" by Michelin one-star Chef Cho Youngdong, and fusion Korean dining "Junghee" will all open for the first time in Paju.
A large Christmas tree, designed to resemble a snow-covered village, will also be displayed at Central Pod starting December 9. In addition, the surrounding low-rise areas will feature specialized brands by zone. There will be a food street, private sauna, bicycle-specialized space, a clinic cluster for convenient medical services for nearby residents, an academy cluster for children, and a kids’ sports academy. The low-rise section is scheduled to open early next year.
A Shinsegae Property representative stated, "Starfield Village Unjeong is a 'local lifestyle hub' where customers can enjoy every aspect of daily life from morning to night. We plan to enhance the quality of life for local residents with a wide range of content and establish ourselves as a landmark in the northwestern Gyeonggi region."
